I tried Jules' tip and 'bought' the apps again.

This is a bit weird as you have to click 'buy' and then hope you remembered
which apps you actually had :)   It would be nice if it showed 0.00 cost
when clicking the 'buy' button.

Anyhoo, that worked fine, no cost.

Only snag is apps that have been replaced with new versions you can't
buy any more.   I may contact support as you suggest for those.
