For future reference:

If you copy the entirety of the iTunes folder from one machine to
another (including all the little database files and sentinel
goodnessknowswhat) it successfully thinks it's talking to the "same"
machine. Doing this allows you to sync with more than one computer
without the whole wipe and start again rigmarole. This even works
between PCs and Macs.
