Yeah, and I think Windows 7 (maybe Vista?) have finally fixed that  
too, so "yay" all round.

(For some reason the Windows shell developer blog has evaporated in a  
puff of Bad Hostname, and I can't test it on my VM. Windows has  
always allowed CDs to eject, and just breaks the filehandles under  
applications. I don't have a way to emulate removable drives. I tried  
deleting a file WMP was playing, and it succeeded with WMP removing  
it from its playlist and skipping to the next item. It's all too  
clever.)
