<div class="">I have heard that some have questioned whether events such as the Innovation Camp (IC), etc. are optional. Just to make clear that, as stated in the student & supervisor agreement that you all signed, you are expected to attend this event and
that your supervisors are obligated to ensure that you can attend. There may be *exceptional* circumstances that mean you cannot attend all or part of the IC; if this is the case, then please let us know by the end of the week. There may be ways to enable
you to attend; e.g. we have modified the timing of a planned internship to ensure one student can attend this year.</div>

<div class="">I mentioned the seminar series that we are re-launching for the next academic year. These are normally at 1pm on the first Wednesday of the month. The topics of the seminars will rotate around the TODS, ABAS, NTAI and EAI themes, and include industry
speakers and speakers addressing diversity topics. Again, this is part of the research training provided by the CDT and you are expected to attend, regardless of the alignment of the topic to your individual research project.</div>
