Hello all,

The UK Electronics Skills Foundation is an organisation that supports the brightest electronics undergraduates around the UK...

They hold an annual workshop in York, which brings all of their students together. We have been invited to send two or three of the MINDS CDT students to attend one day of the workshop to give a presentation to the UKESF students on the topics of:
- What is a PhD?
- What is the MINDS CDT?
- What is AI?
- What are current AI research challenges in electronics?
- What is responsible innovation in AI?

The provisional itinerary is:
- 7th September - the two or three of you take a train up to York, stay in student accommodation provided by UKESF
- 8th September - join the UKESF workshop for the day, give the presentation (perhaps twice - once to each half of the UKESF cohort), take some photos of yourselves at the event, join the UKESF students for meals, other activities and a social event in the evening, stay in student accommodation provided by UKESF
- 9th September - take a train back to Southampton
- 10th September - write up a news article about the activity to go on the MINDS CDT website (using the photos you took) and to go on Pure (which is a tool used to record impacts of research).

The MINDS CDT and the UKESF will cover all the costs associated with the above and you may like to take the opportunity to explore York on the 7th and/or the 9th.

Please let me know if you would like to sign up to this. If I hear back from more than three students before this time next week, then I propose to draw names out of a hat.

Take care, Rob.
