author perspectives on the academic publishing process.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">To provide some background, a few years ago, we published a comparison survey of the perceptions of East Asian authors and international
journal editors (<i>Learned Publishing</i>, v27(1), January 2014, pp. 63-75; <a href="http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1087/20140110/epdf">
<span style="color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1087/20140110/epdf</span></a>). This survey opened eyes to many gaps that exist between the perspectives of authors
and journal editors. The survey findings were not only published, but also presented at various industry conferences worldwide.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">We are now working on a much larger industry-wide survey with an ambitious goal of over 20,000 respondents. This goal will only be possible
by co-distribution through a variety of partner channels, and for this reason I ask for your help in making the link to the survey available through your author community by
</span><span lang="EN-IN" style="color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#254061;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">promoting it on your website, through social media, or mentioning it in an editorial of some sort. We’d be happy to support you with additional
