The idea of ‘standing on the shoulders of giants’ summarises this – we discover truth by building on previous discoveries. But <strong style="box-sizing: border-box;" class="">scientists are very rarely rewarded for being right, they are rewarded for publishing in certain journals and for getting grants</strong>.
