où le mouvement du libre accès, avec ses deux voies verte et dorée,
atteint une certaine maturité dans le monde et principalement dans les pays
développés grâce aux politiques de renforcement de l’accès ouvert à
l’Information Scientifique et Technique (IST) dans tous les domaines, il
continue à être en gestation dans les pays en voie de développement
et en l’occurrence dans les pays arabes et africains. <u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN:left;MARGIN:0cm 0cm 0pt;DIRECTION:ltr;BACKGROUND:white" dir="ltr" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:Garamond" lang="FR">En effet,
le développement de ce mouvement, dans ces pays, a été lésé par le manque de
sensibilisation des chercheurs et des décideurs aux avantages qu’il
octroie en termes de visibilité de la production scientifique, de
démocratisation de l’accès aux résultats de la recherche et d’application des
indicateurs de performance dans les milieux universitaires.

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN:left;MARGIN:0cm 0cm 0pt;DIRECTION:ltr;BACKGROUND:white" dir="ltr" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:Garamond" lang="FR">Ce colloque
se veut une contribution dans l’effort visant à propulser le
mouvement du libre accès à l’échelle mondiale et particulièrement dans les pays
du sud en favorisant la réflexion sur des thèmes ayant trait au rôle du libre
accès dans la valorisation de la recherche scientifique, aux différentes
approches et politiques liées à ce nouveau modèle ainsi qu’à des retours
d’expériences et au rôle que doivent jouer les bibliothèques dans ce nouveau
paysage. L’objectif du colloque est de promouvoir l’échange entre les
chercheurs, les universitaires, et les responsables de la documentation dans
différentes disciplines, afin de partager leurs expériences, de faire part des
résultats de leurs recherches sur les aspects liés aux nouveaux modèles de la
communication scientifique, et de discuter des défis à relever et des solutions

the Open Access (OA) movement, with its green and gold routes, has reached a
certain maturity in the world and mainly in developed countries thanks to the
policies of strengthening open access to Scientific and Technical Information
(STI) in all areas, it continues to progress in the developing countries
including the Arab and African states.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN:left;MARGIN:0cm 0cm 0pt;DIRECTION:ltr;BACKGROUND:white" dir="ltr" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:Garamond">Indeed,
the advance of OA in these countries was prejudiced by the lack of awareness
among researchers and policy makers of the benefits it could provide in terms of
visibility of scientific production, democratization of access to research
results and application of performance indicators in the academic
environment.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN:left;MARGIN:0cm 0cm 0pt;DIRECTION:ltr;BACKGROUND:white" dir="ltr" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:Garamond">This
conference is a contribution in order to propel the OA movement globally and
especially in the countries of the South endorsing reflection on issues related
to the role of OA in the valorizing of scientific research. It tries to show the
different approaches and policies related to this new model as well as the
feedback and the role that libraries have to play in this new scene. The
objective of the conference is to promote the exchange of experiences, views,
and research results between researchers, academics, and librarians from
different disciplines, on related aspects to the new models of scholarly
communication. It will be a good occasion to discuss how to offer solutions to
