He is also one of the small group of people who attended the 2001 meeting that led to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (<a href="http://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/read">BOAI</a>). It was at that meeting that the term Open Access was coined, and <a href="http://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/read">a definition</a> of OA agreed.
