I very far from being a publishers' apologist. In the current case, I<br>
am trying to formulate a helpful response to an inquiry from a<br>
representative of a learned society that is considering whether and<br>
how to go OA.<br>

Just for the record -- these kind words are not 100% accurate. I *am*<br>
an academic (research associate at the University of Bristol), I<br>
