Dear list,

I'm happy to let you know that Knowledge Exchange<http://www.knowledge-exchange.info/> (KE) has published a new report "Accelerating scholarly communication - The transformative role of preprints<http://bit.ly/acceleratingscholcomms>". The report reflects on the place of preprints in the scholarly communication process. Preprints are tentatively defined as versions of research papers typically prior to peer review and publication in a journal.

In addition, to an extensive literature review, we interviewed 38 stakeholders including researchers, research performing organisations, research funding organisations and preprint servers/ service providers to investigate among others the following questions:

What are the main benefits and challenges of preprints for these stakeholders? How is trust established and what role does twitter play in the preprint landscape? Who will be responsible for preprint posting in the future? Do traditional journals have to reframe their value proposition in the light of preprints?

If you are interested in the answers to some of these questions, please take a look at our report!

We would be happy to receive your comments on the report. Please help us distributing this interesting piece of work and share it widely through your channels!

With best regards,

Juliane
