[GOAL] MDPI Now Gives Scholars the Possibility to Endorse and Recommend Articles

Dear Naomi,
Thank you for your feedback and your enthusiasm on this.
Yes, we are planning to implement the endorsement feature more broadly.
First, across other MDPI platforms, including preprints.org, or
Scilit.net which is contains over 120 millions scholarly records,
including preprints.
Second, by setting two-way cooperation with other publishers, publishing
platforms or indexing DBs.
At the moment, the endorsing function is a simple "like" button which
for simplicity reasons we have preferred to integrate within our
integration of the Hypothes.is commenting feature.
We have been working on this feature from some time and have considered
using the existing Plaudit system when it was announced, but for design
and integration reasons we have decided not to use Plaudit; hoping that
both systems - who rely on similar background requirements over DOI and
ORCID - would talk to each others later and exchange endorsements data.
We are finalizing our researcher profile and scholar networking platform
wit hone of the goals being to be able to offer more of these
alternative impact metrics to scholarly communities,
