Dear All,
We are delighted to announce that /Preprints/ (http://www.preprints.org)
has just passed the milestone of 1000 preprints. /Preprints/ is a
not-for-profit platform run by MDPI to announce early versions of papers
from any discipline before peer review.
A few recent innovations to the platform include:
· Expanding the advisory board to 95 members.
· Optimizing the checking of submitted manuscripts to make
decisions as quick and reliable as possible.
· Appointment of Martyn Rittman as Director and Cathy Wang as
Managing Editor.
· Statistics displayed on the home page, to see exactly how
/Preprints /is performing.
· Updates on the website to make the aims and benefits of
/Preprints/ as clear as possible.
All preprints posted have the following features:
· An assigned digital object identifier (DOI) supplied by
Crossref, for immediate citation.
· A link added when a preprint is published in any journal.
· All preprints are open for comment and rating.
· View, download and altmetric statistics on each preprint page.
We want to establish more community involvement and make things even
easier for authors to participate, so watch out for the following in the
coming weeks and months:
· Simple submission: Upload the paper and we will do the rest.
· Greater participation of active researchers in the initial
review process.
· Recognition of comments via Publons
<https://publons.com/home/>, so you can keep a verified record of every
preprint review.
· Submission in additional languages.
· ORCID <https://orcid.org>integration.
/Preprints/ is dedicated to speeding up the dissemination of science and
putting reporting of research into the hands of those producing the
work. We look forward to continued growth and support from the research
community.
Best regards,
Martyn Rittman
