Dear Colleagues !

Please find attached a data analysis of Open Access publication costs covered by the FWF in 2015: https://dx.doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.3180166.v1https://dx.doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.3180166.v1

One remarkable observation is an ongoing concentration in the Gold OA journal market.

A study of the Open Access compliance rate of FWF funded projects will follow in June.

Best

Falk Reckling

open data downloading: http://dataverse.scholarsportal.info/dvn/dv/dgoa

Really brief highlights:

Over 150 publishers of peer-reviewed open access books in Directory of Open Access Books.

DOAJ’s strongest growth quarter to date - average of over 6 titles (net) per day.

The repositories contributing metadata to the Bielefeld Academic Search Engine collectively grew by over 4.7 million documents for a total of close to 89 million documents.

PubMed is falling behind on indexing due to a transition to automated indexing - no serious consequences with respect to this series, but here’s hoping they catch up really soon as a lot of people rely on this index for medical information.

PubMedCentral continues to grow in journal participation, journals with immediate free access, and journals with all content open access.
