[GOAL] Defining rights ... especially derivative

Dear all,

I have recently come accross

an interesting reading, I think, by Kevin Smith, Director of the Office 
of Copyright and Scholarly Communication at Duke University. Mr Smith is 
also the author of a book I want to read soon "Owning and Using 
Scholarship: An IP Handbook for Teachers and Researchers" (and maybe 
recommend to my colleagues.
