Dear colleagues,

similar to recent initiatives in UK or Canada, the first German
universities and the Max Planck Digital Library started to publish APC
data under a Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL).

Common goal of our initiative is to document the paid APCs and to ensure
price transparency on this market.

For data publication and analysis we are using a GitHub-Repository:
https://github.com/njahn82/unibiAPC

The following institutions started to take part:

Bielefeld University
Leibniz Universität Hannover
KIT Karlsruhe
Max Planck Digital Library
University of Duisburg-Essen
University of Regensburg

A normalised dataset for all institutions with 1,432 OA-articles
(1,732,556 EURO) so far is available directly here:

Best,

Dirk Pieper & Najko Jahn
