International Organizations (sent on behalf of Heather Joseph)
Sent: Wed, May 14, 2014 1:05:16 PM

Folks,

Earlier today, SPARC, along with several other major international
organizations committed to promoting the principle of Open Access, issued
the attached statement in support of the immediate availability of articles,
and clarifying our long-held position on the use of embargo periods as a
transition mechanism.

As the adoption of Open Access policies continues to grow around the world,
we recognize the importance of working closely with our colleagues around
the globe to ensure that institutional, state, national and international
policies are in close alignment.

Please feel free to distribute this statement to your colleagues, and to
encourage other organizations who support this statement to become
signatories to it as well. Organizations can add their support by visiting
this website: <https://www.coar-repositories.org/?p=3989> https://www.coar-

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about this
statement.

All the best,
Heather

Heather Joseph,
Executive Director, SPARC
