Thanks to the data gathering and analysis of Jihane Salhab, this edition features pictures illustrating the extent of free full-text for NIH-funded articles - more than half a million items are now free! Jihane's pictures also provide evidence of the effectiveness of the NIH Public Access Policy - NIH funded researche (intra or extramural) is more than twice as likely to be freely available (71% and 66% respectively) than any items regardless of funding (31%) after 3 years.
