Taking the opportunity of this communication to Eurocall 2013
(Chanier, 2013), colleagues who were subscribers to the EUROCALL and
CALICO (European and Northen American CALL associations) mailing lists
were invited to participate in an online survey. Here are the
results of this survey.
It collected attitudes and opinions of CALL (Computer Assisted
Language Learning) researchers related to issues on open access to
publication, scientific process linking publications and data,
access and reuse of data on learning situations where the
researcher/teacher did not participated in the first instance,
acknowledgement of research related to work on data.
Some questions set in this survey:
- Suppose you submit a paper to a journal which is based on research
data, would you be willing to deposit your data for the review process?
- If research data from learning situations was available in
open-access formats, would you be interested in doing research on this
data that you did not personally collect?
- What proportion of your publications do you deposit as open access?
- Occasionally, would you be ready to waive your intellectual property
rights when you deposit data (data, not publications), provided that
your data can be clearly cited / referred to?
Here (http://mulce-doc.univ-bpclermont.fr/spip.php?article95) you will
find access to:
- the document displaying and commenting the survey results
- the survey form
- the spreadsheet containing the raw data on survey responses.
