Dear members and partners of COAR,

It is already next week that the Annual Open Repositories Conference
<http://or2012.ed.ac.uk/> will take place in Edinburgh, UK. COAR is
delighted being among the supporters of this event.

To get started for the conference week, a workshop on the COAR Repository
Interoperability Roadmap will be hosted by Eloy Rodrigues. The workshop will
take place on Tuesday morning, July 10 at Appleton tower. Eloy will present
the latest outcomes of the COAR interoperability project
<http://www.coar-repositories.org/working-groups/repository-interoperability/
coar-interoperability-project/> in order to help participants to make sense
of the interoperability landscape, understand which standards and protocols
support which services. Participants will be also invited to get involved in
the next stages of COAR interoperability project. If you are interested in
attending, a few places are still available. Have a look at
http://or2012coar-eorg.eventbrite.com/ to register.

Additionally, come visit the COAR exhibition stand in the cafeteria area
during the midday networking breaks. Here you will have the chance to network
with fellow COAR members, discuss with colleagues and hear about latest
updates on COAR activities. Katharina Mueller will be there and happy to
answer your questions.

At the same time, the International Conference on Trends in Knowledge and
Information Dynamics <http://drtc.isibang.ac.in/ictk/> will take place in
Bangalore, India. The programme includes a session dedicated to COAR
activities. Norbert Lossau, who is as well a member of the international
Programme Committee, Alicia Lopéz Medina, and Ikuko Tsuchide will conduct
this workshop together with experts from India and Sri Lanka. Presentations
will include the status-quo of Open Access Repositories in several countries
as well as highlights of COAR working group activities.

We look forward to meeting you in Edinburgh and Bangalore and wish you an
interesting conference week.

Kind regards,

Katharina
