<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Like me, many of you will be concerned because of the personal risk of infection and the possibility of passing on an infection to your loved ones. The health and safety of the
Turing community is of paramount importance and we want to ensure we are doing everything we can to minimise any potential risks to you and other members of the community.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">At the Institute we are well equipped to work remotely and I know that many of you are already doing this. Given the ongoing risks, and the latest government advice to people
to ‘work from home wherever they can’, I have agreed (in consultation with senior leaders and the Chair of the Board of Trustees) to
<b>close the Turing’s offices at the British Library until further notice</b>. This decision has been taken in the interests of the safety and wellbeing of our community and is effective from
<b>close of play tomorrow, 17 March 2020</b>. (If necessary, you may collect your essential items from the Institute up until midday on Wednesday, 18 March).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">I recognise that this will be a challenge for our vibrant community. Especially for those who will now, more than ever have to balance their home life with their work life, and
those who rely strongly on personal interaction as part of their working day. We should all take personal responsibility by helping our colleagues to feel connected and engaged during these times. We also want you to feel able to work as flexibly as necessary
to suit your individual circumstances. Please consult with your line manager and speak to colleagues about your working arrangements.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
