<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:105%;color:#2E74B5">The Southampton Science & Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) , including Science & Engineering Day, is back for 2019 with more exciting hands-on activities, shows, demonstrations,
talks and tours!</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>

Science & Engineering Festival (SOTSEF)</a></span> will run from 8 March 2019, <span style="color:black">
culminating in Science and Engineering Day on Saturday 16 March 2019.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">We would like to invite you to register your intent to participate in SOTSEF 2019.</span>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Engaging with the public brings a host of benefits – to the University, to staff and students, and to the public. SOTSEF is a unique University of Southampton opportunity to highlight our global reputation and
to share our life-changing research with a friendly, interested and engaged audience.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">(At this stage, we do not need to know your exact requirements, just top level information that will help the team plan the activities and floorplans/ zones, this is stage 1)</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Once your application has been reviewed and approved by the PERu team, please be aware of the following further deadlines:</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:black">18th January</span></b><span style="color:black"> –stage 2 update your application with logistical details such as power & space requirements</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:black">1st February </span></b><span style="color:black">– stage 3 confirm your team and their requirements (e.g. tshirt sizes, lunches etc)</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:black">9th February </span></b><span style="color:black">– stage 4 send through risk assessment</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">You will be sent reminders and clear instructions on how and where to upload this information in due course.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Please note: To ensure that SOTSEF is inclusive of everyone, we are working with the central Equality and Diversity team to conduct an equality impact assessment and this will be part of the application submission

<b>20<sup>th </sup>December</b> to discuss this further. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">These will generally take place in the evening, could be on- or off-campus and will probably be better suited to a more-adult audience. Options might include a pub quiz, a film screening, a poetry reading or a
stand-up comedy show. We are open to new ways of engaging the public with your research.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
