[Fellows-Southampton] Call for application mentors for Turing Enrichment Scheme

Call for application mentors - help potential applicants prepare their application

We are inviting members of the Turing community to sign up to become application mentors. Application Mentoring will be offered to students who come from ethnic backgrounds typically underrepresented on the Enrichment scheme and students from non-partner universities.

Mentees will be paired with a member of the Turing research community (where possible in a related discipline) who will support them in preparing their application. The mentor will be expected to:

  *   Hold a one hour meeting with their mentee to discuss the programme, their area of research and any questions
  *   Read a draft of their application and provide feedback
  *   Suggest any potential collaborators and make introductions if appropriate.

The session will be recorded and shared afterwards.

We expect mentoring pairs to be matched by the 28th January. The deadline for Enrichment scheme applications will be the 23rd February.
This is a short term mentoring relationship to support students in applying for the Enrichment scheme; there is no expectation that if successful the mentor should continue to support the student.
