[Fellows-Southampton] Turing Skills Group - Member applications open!

Dear Turing Fellows

We are pleased to welcome applications for the newly expanded Turing Skills Group (TSG). The TSG is responsible for guiding the development and delivery of work across the remit of the Skills Team at strategic and operational levels (see attached Terms of Reference).  As the portfolio of activities and programmes scales up and expands, the Skills Team is looking to garner expertise and support from the wider Turing community, and we have therefore launched this open call for individuals to express their interest in becoming a TSG member.

TSG members will support, guide and initiate discussions that will impact the Skills and Training work the Turing is doing on both an institutional and national level. TSG members are expected to meet quarterly for formal TSG meetings and contribute to the ongoing work of one of the TSG subgroups.

Interested applicants can express their interest in becoming a member of one or more TSG subgroups split by areas of responsibility:


  1.  Academic Programmes
  2.  Applied Skills
  3.  National Skills Agenda
  4.  Researcher Development

Appointments to the TSG membership will be made based on alignment and commitment to the TSG goals, while ensuring a diverse group membership to represent our wide community. TSG appointments will last 1-2 years in a first instance until an established committee membership is formed.

Deadline for applications is 29 November 2021 midday, with a drop-in session to answer questions and meet the Skills team on 6 December 2021 (11:00 - 12:00). We are planning the first TSG to meet end of January 2022 with the TSG subgroups meeting shortly before this.
