[Fellows-Southampton] EPSRC IAA Additional Funding Opportunity

Peter and I met with the team and were given the impression that at least one project would be funded under 1) below and there is likely to be further funding in the future.  If you decide to apply, I'd be grateful if you would like me know.

The University has been offered some additional EPSRC IAA funds and the focus will be on four EPSRC identified priority areas which are:



1.          working with and through The Alan Turing Institute, the Rosalind Franklin Institute, the Henry Royce Institute, and their network of user partnerships

2.          activities which encourage business co-investment and enhance business/academic partnerships

3.          impact activities which contribute to regional/place agendas

4.          public engagement activities where interaction is key to informing the  research impact such as user or patient engagement and as such used as the critical pathway to achieve societal and/or economic impact.



We are particularly keen to increase the engagement with the Institutes and centres within the University and would therefore welcome applications from the areas mentioned in 1) above.



Due to the restrictions imposed by the funder, the funds need to be spent by June 2022 and therefore:



Call close:

Thursday 25 November 2021

Peer and panel review:

Friday 26 November - Friday 3 December 2021

Outcomes to PIs:

Friday 10 December 2021

PIs to confirm in a position to commence project as anticipated on 1 February 2022

Friday 14 January 2022

Projects to finish by:

Tuesday 31st May 2022

The 19th annual ESRC Festival of Social Science is returning in 1st-30th November this year, and the University of Southampton is hosting its version for the third time!
