Subject: [Fellows-Southampton] AIUK Student tickets
Dear Fellows
See the email below. I have allocated one discounted ticket to our Turing Doctoral Student, Joe Early, so there is one remaining. Joe is putting in a Poster submission and, if successful, he will get free entry which would release his ticket.
Do you have any students you’d like to nominate for a discounted ticket at £65.00? I don’t have a budget for this, so they would need to use their RTSG to cover the cost. I will do this on a first come first served basis and keep the reserve list in the event of more tickets becoming available.
If you do nominate a student, please let me have the name and email address so I can follow up. Please don’t forward the email below with the link.
Many thanks
Susan

Subject: AIUK Student tickets
Dear Turing University Liaison Managers (Cc TULs for information),
We are in the midst of creating our first dynamic, two-day conference, which will see the Turing produce an unrivalled showcase featuring the very best of UK academic work in AI and machine learning.
As you know, the student tickets were to be launched on an open access basis two weeks ago – we had an unexpected rush and these were sold out within a couple of hours!
While that’s overall positive, this did not ensure our university partners had enough access, and the resulting spread of tickets are not evenly spread, and most university partners do not have representation.
Therefore we have decided to offer two discounted student tickets to each university to allocate to students.
Please send this registration link<https://aiuk2020.eventbrite.co.uk/?discount=Partnerstudenttwo> to two students, who you think would benefit from attending this event (we leave the selection up to you).
We ask that the students use their university email address to register, as we are operating this ticket process on good faith. Please note that any universities purchasing more than 2 tickets may have the additional tickets cancelled, so please do closely manage this.
We hope that these tickets will be well received.
Please also note – the AI UK team will soon be sending out a call for volunteers to support at the event, which guarantees you a place at the event. This is only open to the Turing business team, so includes yourselves, but is not relevant for students.
Many thanks,
