Opportunity: The US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), with Dstl assistance, are seeking a technical Co-Chair to work with them to develop the content and participate in a workshop on RF signal processing and Machine Learning at the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI).
Date: August 10th - 16th, Macau, China (the exact dates of the workshop have not been agreed and subject to the workshop proposal being accepted)
Description: NRL's goal is to organise a conference workshop that brings together researchers from the RF Signal Processing and Machine Learning (ML) communities, showcase state-of-the-art ML approaches applicable in the RF domain, and provide a forum for discussing cross-disciplinary ideas to address present and future challenges. Dstl will provide a bursary to cover travel, accommodation and conference fees for the Co-chair.
Areas of academic expertise sought include ML for blind channel and signal characterization; source separation; RF signal classification; cognitive radio communications (e.g. optimization of spectrum usage dynamics and spectrum access control); RF-based geolocation; topology and structural properties of (cognitive) radio networks; Distributed multi-agent learning in collaborative autonomous systems; Reinforcement learning in wireless networks; Privacy-preserving ML for cognitive radio communications (e.g. in 5G cellular networks).
Academics with expertise in these areas are strongly encouraged to get in touch, even if they cannot assist with this opportunity, as Dstl will be offering more opportunities to collaborate in this area.
Contact for more information: Rebecca Babb, Programme Manager - Defence and Security, rbabb at turing.ac.uk<mailto:rbabb at turing.ac.uk>. Deadline: 18th January 2019.
Best wishes,
Rebecca
