<font size="2" face="sans-serif">There will always be restrictions with regards to accessibility in a repository, notably because of the uploaded documents for which one will have no influence on how they are produced.</font><br>

<font size="2" face="sans-serif">Before this project was started, one important prerequisite was to make the UI completely HTML5 compliant using Bootstrap and other components.</font><br>
<font size="2" face="sans-serif">Since many plugins deliver non-HTML5 code out of the box (often no separation of data and UI), these had to be adapted or a afterburner script that modifies the DOM had to be used.</font><br>
<br>
<font size="2" face="sans-serif">The accessibility project then included then analysis of the pages using various tools, accompaniment by the Disability Office of the University of Zurich (and also the Communications Office), modification of plugins, templates, phrases etc., and accompaniment and audit by an specialized office on accessibility. According to our JIRA documentation, it took about 18 months, although not 100% of the worktime was invested, but free time when no other urgent projects were on the list.</font><br>
