Hi Simon,
I’d suggest to the powers-that-be, that what they *really* want is to mint sequential DOIs for their datasets, rather than trying to crowbar that requirement onto the EPrintID..?

Hi Adam,

It seems that the they really just don't like the idea of non-sequential eprint ids.

I've explained the implications of reclaiming the ID so I'm guessing its something we won't pursue.
