Hi Stephen,
In my experience, given that EPrints runs as an Apache module, it's been easiest to use an Apache log analizer. My favorite one is awstats
- you can look at its output at:
http://stat.iiec.unam.mx/awstats/ru.iiec.unam.mx.html
It requires a login with username/password - I will temporarily open it with login "public" and password "temp" (and will close it tomorrow-ish).
All awstats needs is access to your web server logs; it keeps a historical database, and gives you a wealth of information on the usage patterns of your sites.
