the views have to be generated by `~/bin/generate_views <archiveID>` or Admin>System Tools>Regenerate views
assuming some items are deposited in live archive ...
Finally you should set up a cron job: http://wiki.eprints.org/w/Getting_Started_with_EPrints_3#Generate_Views
