[EP-tech] what dir permissions needed

on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.4

i tried to install:

yum install eprints > Error: Package: eprints-3.3.12-1.el6.noarch 
(rpm-eprints-org)
            Requires: perl(Apache::DBI)
but! Apache::DBI is up to date (1.12).
???



yum install eprints3  (EPrints 3.2.9 (Apple Strudel) [Born on 2011-10-18])
- /opt/eprints3
- sed -i 's/ / /g' /opt/eprints3/lib/lang/en/phrases/system.xml

create archive > ok

start indexer

???

also: browse by author (http://eprints1.eleph.ch/view/creators/ )
- EPrints System Error. Can't open to write to XML file:
