SendMail{} method in the email.pm file should use "send_mail_via_sendmail{}" method for sending emails. Please check it out.

I also noticed that sendmail is not installed but postfix is installed. I tried sending a test email from the command line and nothing is sent

Eprints uses "sendmail" application to send emails but it is not included in eprints installation process.
Try to install sendmail application via following commands and restart apache:



sudo apt-get install sendmail
sudo sendmailconfig

Hi when registering a new user into the Eprints system, the confirmation email is not being sent. Any help would be appreciated. How can I fix this?
