Hi Mark
I haven’t tested it out, but maybe the JournalTOCs could be used? http://www.journaltocs.ac.uk/api_help.php
I’m quite surprised, that CrossRef still doesn’t store abstracts, not even for OA Content. The latest schema now includes much more information, but still no abstracts:
Eg. http://doi.crossref.org/servlet/query?pid=epentz@crossref.org&format=unixsd&id=10.1155/2013/601246
Best regards
Christian

Betreff: [EP-tech] Web services for importing abstracts
We’re looking at using web services to import abstracts and enrich a number of existing records, primarily journal articles, into our EPrints repository working from DOI.
As far as I can see the terms of use for Elsevier and Thomson web services explicitly disallow this use of abstracts; CrossRef doesn’t include abstracts; and WorldCat doesn’t look like a good fit.
I’m not sure if there is anywhere to turn now. Does anyone know of alternative sources?
Cheers
Mark
