Yes, we are using a "special login" which you set up for us some months ago when we found that off-campus users could log into Eprints.
All the above fail to return anything.
Also, accessing http://10.11.161.159 with IE8 results in the top half of the home page being blackened out, as you will probably be able verify for yourself.

Aren't you using a "special login" (cgi/local_login) at middlesex?
Perhaps that broke?
What if you access directly in a web browser:
Also, are you using http or https?
