Dear Bashir,

I am writing to share details with you about our undergraduate internship opportunities<http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/jobs/intern/about_uk.aspx>.  I would be most grateful if you could share this amongst your 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students.

We have developed our - typically PhD focussed - intern programme to allow for a number of undergraduates interested in pursuing a post graduate degree.  This programme aims to provide first-hand experience of a research environment, generates key personal connections, and encourages interested undergraduates' progress into a Masters or PhD programme.

Any undergraduate may apply for an internship, but we particularly want to take positive action to ensure that female undergraduates are aware of this opportunity, and to encourage them to continue past undergraduate level in fields related to Computer Science.

Therefore my request, if it is possible, is for you to send these details<http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/jobs/intern/about_uk.aspx> to your female undergraduates before the end of this term - helping us to demonstrate what a rewarding career path research in Computer Science can be, and in turn increase the overall gender diversity.
