Hello Everyone,

Just a quick reminder of some events we have coming up. Firstly we are
running a Twitter API Challenge on 4th November at 1:30pm in 32/3073,
we have designed a challenge, along with our sponsors, to give people a
chance to win some prizes just by playing around with the Twitter API.
It's really easy to do and you can do it in a whole host of languages,
you can check out the development wiki to find out more
(http://apiwiki.twitter.com/). This is open to all UG, MSc and PhD
students and can be done in groups of up to 3 people. Don't worry about
your coding ability as the originality of the idea is as much included
in the judging. *Come along on Wednesday at 1:30pm in 32/3073* to find
out more!

We are also taking deposits (£5) for the IBM Innovation Day on 25th
November at 1:10pm outside Zepler reception, the trip includes transport
to and from Hursley and is a great opportunity to learn how the
development process works in an industry setting. There are many
challenges across the day and the chance to win *prizes *for the winning
group! We are running this on a first come, first serve basis and ask
that people who have been before perhaps think of allowing others to
visit instead.

Also we have a Hoodie Questionnaire up until next Monday, go to our
website and fill it in. It's very short and will only take a few minutes
to complete. You can find the questionnaire here:

Finally, ECSLug are also running a Karmic Koala Party in *Seminar Room
1, Zepler (blg. 59) Level 1 on 5th November. *Any questions about ECSLug
can be directed to the leader of the group: rl406 at ecs.soton.ac.uk.

Thanks,
Darius
