[ECSS] ECSS events update

Hey everyone, 

I'd like to let you know about some great events ECSS is running for you soon! :)

Firstly, there will be a trip to IBM Hursley on Wednesday 25th November 2009 (the coach will leave at 10am and return by 17.30). There are 30 places and we'll be signing people up on Wednesday 4th November at 1.10pm in the Zepler reception. £5 deposit will be required to secure your place.

During your visit in the IBM software development laboratories at Hursley you’ll have a chance to meet the "Master Inventors", learn how they develop new ideas and road-test YOUR ideas in an Innovation workshop, collaborating in teams to solve a real-world problems. The winning team wins exciting prizes!


Next, we're organising the "Twitter challenge" - a competition which involves coding an application of any kind using the Twitter API. It's designed for all ability levels and since it's about original thinking as much as the execution, everyone has a chance! You'll work in teams of up to 3 people and will have plenty of time to finish. It's open to everyone, including PhD/MsC and there will be prizes given out! 
There will be a meeting hosted on Wednesday 4th November at 1.30pm in 32/3073 to let you know all the details. 


Also, we're currently running a "Hoodies Survey" to let YOU decide how you want this year's ECSS hoodies to look like. So please spare some of your precious time to fill it in and let us know what you think! :)
