Hi all,

It would be great to have a strong presence from the ITA team here. All you’d need to do at this stage is submit a short abstract of a potential poster. There are prizes to be won (which would be great to have on your CV), it’ll be an excellent opportunity to practise presenting your work, and some local VIPs have been invited (company representatives and politicians). The final deadline for the poster is 2 May.

Dear Research Group Heads,

 There is some pressure on the faculty to contribute to the new Doctoral Research Showcase which will take place within this year’s Festival, on Wednesday 16 May 2018. Full details here:

The on-line application will remain open until Friday 27 April

This event will showcase a wide variety of doctoral research projects from across the disciplines, through a mix of posters, exhibits and hands-on activities.  Exhibitors will be eligible for a number of Showcase Awards.

The Showcase will be an open event for the University community (fellow PGRs/staff/students) plus invited VIPs (University senior leaders, visiting UKRI guests, local ‘external’ guests).

Doctoral Researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to participate as exhibitors via posters and exhibits/activities.

We are delighted that Prof Sir Mark Walport - CEO of UKRI - will be calling in to the Showcase during the afternoon, as part of his visit to the University that day.

 Could I ask you to promote this within your group please - it is a nice opportunity to champion your research.
