Dear MSc students,
As explained on the COMP6200 Notes pages:
https://secure.ecs.soton.ac.uk/notes/comp6200/
you have to demonstrate your project results to your second examiner between Monday 19th August and your dissertation hand-in deadline.
Please contact your second examiner to arrange a demonstration meeting. Your examiner may well be on holiday or at a conference, but they should be available somewhere within this time window.
____
At the demonstration meeting, you can explain what your project is about (*). You should demonstrate any software/hardware/etcetera that you have developed for your MSc project. Therefore you are expected to bring a laptop or any portable hardware along to this meeting. If necessary, you can ask your second examiner to meet in a laboratory instead.
(*) It is also helpful to show your second examiner a draft version of your dissertation. This helps with explaining your project. Do ask your examiner whether he/she has any expectations or any suggestions for your MSc dissertation.
____
Towards the end of your project, you should also demonstrate any developed software/hardware/etc, in its final state, to your project supervisor.
____
Students with referral assessments have a 3-week extension to their MSc dissertation deadline, hence their demonstration meetings can be held at a later time.
____
You are now entering the last phase of your MSc Project. We wish you all the best with finishing your practical work and writing your dissertation. Do note all the information on the COMP6200 Notes pages. Please let us know if you experience any problems.
Best regards,
Maurits de Planque & Oliver Bills
