Hi,
I’m a PhD student from South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership (SCDTP), which is a group of social science postgraduate researchers from the Universities of Southampton, Portsmouth, and Brighton funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
I attended the Symposium on Interdisciplinary Machine Learning held by the Centre for Machine Intelligence earlier this year and was inspired by the engaging talks and the possibilities of machine learning discussed by the professors and PhD students.
The SCDTP is organising a Research Methods Festival which aims to showcase a diverse array of research methods that could be used in social science research. I’m emailing on behalf of the SCDTP Research Methods Festival committee to ask whether someone from the CMI research centre might be interested in giving a talk at the festival, introducing machine learning and some interdisciplinary applications. The festival will be held at Fort Purbrook in Portsmouth on Tuesday 26th November.
Many thanks for considering our request, I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
Philippa
