Hi all,
Please see below. If there’s interest in doing this, please let me know, so I can coordinate.
We all have contacts in the US which we could share for this.
Regards,
Gopal

> Hi Gopal
>
> There was a funding opportunity announced last week and I thought I would send it to you in case you hadn’t picked it up. It is a Bilateral Academic Research Initiative (BARI) in the area of AI and collaborative decision making (human-machine teaming), specifically, “Novel Artificial Intelligence Frameworks in Support of Collaborative Complex Decision Making”.
>
> The BARI programme supports basic research in science and engineering between U.S. and UK universities in areas that would be of interest to the U.S. Department of Defense and the MoD in the UK. For this call, the DoD and MoD are interested in proposals from academic teams that ‘build frameworks for new AI agents that allow the exploration of the ‘virtual human’ with an emphasis on developing behaviors and process for true teaming with human counterparts.’
>
> Below is the link to the full details of the statement of requirement for academic proposals (also attached - pp.5-8 contain the detail of the research to be undertaken). It also gives a point of contact who can provide more information on the technical areas of interest.

>
> The closing date for proposals is 06 July 2018 and submission is through the online portal SAM, which we are registered on, and the FPSE finance team are fairly well-versed in how it use it, I believe. Funding is for three years for up to US$3 million. Eligible teams must comprise at least one UK and one US University.
>
> Please do forward to any colleagues in the AIC group or beyond, you feel may be interested. It is inter-disciplinary and this call does seem to fit quite nicely with your new Centre for Machine Intelligence. If you are interested in applying and would like some support from RIS please do contact Cecilia and me.
