Thanks Thanassis.

I’ve now created a page on PhD positions for the CMI.

The idea is to route all applicants to CMI rather than to a generic PhD applications page. I hope that’s ok with everyone.

Regards,

Gopal

Hi Gopal

I would suggest one more bullet point on the PhD topics (or merging with bullet point one):

- Infrastructures for AI (incl. IoT data sharing, distributed analytics).

Regarding text for the website, please find below a project description for the IoT Observatory as promised (title, abstract, url and photo).

Best wishes
Thanassis

Title: Secure Sharing of IoT data

Sharing IoT data for machine intelligence involves different stakeholders who publish and access a variety of data sources. Analytics in a data sharing ecosystem can make use of datasets and streams from IoT devices but also from other databases including data that can be sensitive for individuals or organisations. The IoT Observatory aims to provide a secure data sharing infrastructure for analytics by supporting the discovery and use of data resources for innovative applications in a way that ensures publishers keep control of who accesses their data and how they are used. This undertaking presents technological, ethical, legal and policy challenges, which become clearer when considering specific scenarios such as smart city, smart home, autonomous vehicles and others. This project is under the auspices of the PETRAS Cybersecurity of the Internet of Things Research Hub (www.petrashub.org<http://www.petrashub.org/>).

HI all,

as dicussed at the last meeting, please see a draft of the PhD advert I want to put on the site and which I will ask to send to various mailing lists. Please make sure:

1. your group’s interest (where relevant) is included.
2. any other aspects we should consider
3. where we should send this to

The Dept. struggles to get strong UK PhD candidates even from within the department…so any ideas on how to make such positions appealing would be good.

Regards,

Gopal
