Thanks for all your quick responses. Having looked through all of them, I think there’s a reasonable consensus (or as best as we’re likely to get) for 2pm on a Wednesday – avoiding weeks that it clashes with ECS committees, e.g. Education Ctte.

In terms of speakers:

  *   It would be great to get some from PhD students nearing completion, and RAs. Please let me know any suggestions from your team!
  *   Koushik has kindly agreed to give one (I took him up on his offer from all the way back at the Away Day!)
  *   I have one agreed on Smart Road Transport from a previous Chief Scientist and Research Director at TRL

Wednesdays I have timetabled teaching from 3 to 5pm (live sessions), Education Committee, EPE group meetings etc. are on Wednesdays as well. During term-time Wednesdays are tricky for me.
