[C-IoT Management] Fwd: FEPS Research Week: Submit a Poster to the IoT Research Showcase event, 05 April 2019

Dear C-IoT Management Group,

The deadline for submitting a title/brief abstract for the FEPS IoT Showcase poster event is Thursday (tomorrow) lunchtime. As I’m sure you can appreciate, it’s important that ECS has a strong presence at the event.

Please can I request that you proactively encourage your team, and wider research group, to engage and submit? A collateral benefit is that the Faculty will be paying for some new and updated wall decoration for your groups to use afterwards!

PhD students, postdocs and academics that are undertaking research related to IoT are welcome to submit. Posters could be about past or present research projects, an individual piece of work/a paper, a summary of activity within a group, a position piece about the potential for IoT in your field, etc. They could be related to anything from underpinning technologies for IoT through to applications and deployments.

Dear FEPS researcher,

As part of FEPS Research Week, ECS’ Centre for Internet of Things and Pervasive Systems<http://www.c-iot.ecs.soton.ac.uk/> is organising a poster session to showcase Internet of Things (IoT) research across the Faculty. The event will take place on the Highfield Campus on the morning of Friday 05 April 2019 (likely to be 10:30-12:30).

We invite all FEPS researchers (PhD, postdoc, academic, etc) that are undertaking research related to IoT to present a poster. Posters could be about past or present research projects, an individual piece of work/a paper, a summary of activity within a group, a position piece about the potential for IoT in your field, etc. They could be related to anything from underpinning technologies for IoT through to applications and deployments.

It should only take a few minutes to complete.

I will get in contact with you shortly after the deadline to let you know whether or not your submission has been accepted (we will only reject submissions if they are out-of-scope, or if we have exceeded capacity for the event). If you need to have your poster printed, you will then have around a week to send us a pdf (the deadline is likely to be Thursday 28th March).

Everybody in the Faculty is invited to attend to find out more about IoT research in FEPS, and I will circulate more information nearer the time. The event will also feature short talks providing an overview of two of ECS’s other strategic research centres: the Centre for Machine Intelligence<https://www.cmi.ecs.soton.ac.uk/> (CMI) and the Centre for Health Technologies<https://www.cht.ecs.soton.ac.uk/> (CHT).
