[C-IoT Management] IoT Research Areas

Hi all,

I’m looking for a way to structure the IoT research activities within ECS, which will be used on the website/video etc. I’ve had a look through all of the ‘register an interest’ submission that were made, and the topics that people listed, and have come up with the following clustering. Your thoughts are welcomed (and I’m sure there will be problems with this first attempt!):


  1.  Sensor Technologies (novel sensor devices)
  2.  Devices and Computation (transistor devices through to uProcessors)
  3.  Powering IoT
  4.  Communications and Networking
  5.  Security, Safety, Privacy and Trust
  6.  Data Management and Analysis (including ML and inference)
  7.  IoT Applications and Testbeds (including deployments, systems, and application domains e.g. healthcare, smart grid, agricultural, environmental, etc)

Please let me know in the next couple of days if you’ve got any thoughts…
