Dear all,

I am Marta Pérez, a PhD Candidate in Social Anthropology at
Autonomous University of Madrid. Me and three colleagues at the department are
organizing an international workshop on Open Access. The workshop is
called "FAQs about Open Access: The Politics of Publishing in
Anthropology". It will take place 16-17 October 2014 in Madrid, in MediaLab.

The workshop is funded by the Wenner-Gren Foundation (www.wennergren.org), and we have support from our Department and the Madrid Institute of Anthropology.

We are currently disseminating the initiative and exploring ways of collaborating with institutions that might be interested in the event. We would like to think about partnerships in order
to disseminate information about the conference and to establish
collaboration with OA-centered institutions in order to make
this workshop as international and as participatory as possible. Also, we are looking for additional financial support for travels and side-events. Has the Boai Forum any call for grants open at the moment or does it plan to open one in the near future?

I attach the complete proposal. We are in the process of confirming attendees. For the moment, here is the list of participants:

David Zeitly
Alberto Corsín
Clarence Gravlee
Ernest Abadal

While the workshop will focus on how Open Access debates concern anthropologists and their research specifically, it will
will be a pleasure for us to have your support and collaboration. We
can communicate by phone, Skype, or e-mail. Below are my data.
