Repositories (COAR) is delighted to announce that Birgit
Schmidt (</span>Goettingen State and University
Library/COAR/OpenAIRE<span lang="EN-CA">) and Kathleen
Shearer (Canadian Association of Research
Libraries/COAR) are the recipients of the 2012 LIBER
Award for Library Innovation. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span
lang="EN-CA">The prize was awarded for their paper, </span><i
style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"><span
style="mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">Licensing
Revisited: Open Access Clauses in Practice. </span></i><span
style="mso-bidi-font-family:Arial;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-bidi-font-weight:
bold">The paper describes work being done through COAR
to advance open access implementation via content
licenses. The paper reviews the current landscape in
terms of open access clauses and discusses the
opportunities available for expanding open access via
the use of licensing negotiations,<o:p></o:p></span></p>
