Open access (OA) is a new model that means authors pay a fee that covers the costs of reviewing and publishing their work, which is then free to access online for anyone around the world.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:13.5pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Consolas;color:#1F497D'>This self-serving definition of open access is incomplete and misleading.
