has added a &#39;country&#39; field to its database of publishers&#39; copyright and 
self-archiving policies. This has enabled us to generate a statistical table of 
the number of RoMEO-listed publishers by country and continent:</font></div>

<div><font face="Verdana" size="2">The apparent imbalance in the distribution of 
RoMEO-listed publishers by country reflects two things:</font></div>

<div><font face="Verdana" size="2">1. It reflects the focus of RoMEO on the journals 
with the highest impact, as indicated by Thomson Reuters&#39; &#39;Web of Knowledge&#39;, 
which are mostly published in the United States and Europe.</font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font face="Verdana" size="2">2. The proportionately higher numbers for some 
countries, notably Portugal and Norway, reflect the effort that our partners in 
these countries have put into adding their country&#39;s publishers to 
RoMEO.</font></div>

<div><font face="Verdana" size="2">We hope that users will find this extra 
information useful.</font></div>
